Another spring day, Another Bike Ride

Today we went out the district 5 road to Flemming creek.  The wind was at our backs on the way up but was against us coming back.  On the way back we decided to cut up through the State land, which was a bit of a mistake.  There was still a fair bit of snow back in there so we had to push our bikes a bit.  Overall it was a fun ride and the weather just keeps getting better.

Game Cam Pics

I finally have a picture of something other than deer and elk.  I have pictures of a mountain lion.  I have my camera set up at chicken ridge and have gotten mostly elk pictures until now.  They aren't the greatest pictures but I am happy to have them.

Then of course I have to have a picture of Nelson.  Can you find him in the next picture.

 

Bike Ride

We went for a bike ride today.  It was our first day well above 50 degrees.  We went to the refuge and back.  Lots of critters out and really felt like spring.

Horn Hunting

Laura and I went for a walk back on the state land west of the house. It was a nice afternoon and I had some luck. I found a winter kill buck, a decent non-typical that had been there a while.

Bike Ride

Laura and I went for a bike ride this evening.  The roads are bare and it was nice to get out for a ride.  I didn't take any pictures but here are the stats.

Katka

Laura and I went for a ski up Katka today.  The day started off foggy but eventually cleared and was nice and sunny.  It was a little icy in the morning but things warmed up and made for some nice skiing. We did a little over 16 miles without much elevation gain.

Boundary Creek WMA

We went skiing up at Boundary Creek WMA today. Conditions weren't great but it was a decent day to be out.

It was foggy today, but only in the valley.  Nelson and I snowshoed up Myrtle face until we found the sun.

Trout Creek Ski

Laura and I went skiing up Trout creek today.  We had to park at the bottom at the County Road and ski up from there.  There were snowmobile tracks for the first few miles, but after that we had to break our own trail.  We ended up skiing about 10.5 miles and had almost 3000 feet of elevation gain.  The sun came and went for most of the day and it was a little cooler up high.  I had 5 degrees on my thermometer where we turned around and 20 when we got back to the pickup.  It was a fun day and Nelson is thoroughly worn out.

Another Sunny Winter Day

We had a snow flurry this morning but it cleared off and turned into another beautiful sunny day.
